OPENING DATE
While we never actually had an official opening, the 28 HKS posse decided they would celebrate 31 October 2011 as our official opening date. Halloweens are serious fun at 28...
CONCEPT
Hidden behind an unassuming 1960’s shophouse façade, 28 HKS is a word-of-mouth venue for people who might appreciate the kind of venue that we enjoy ourselves: relaxing at the beginning, growing a tad louder as the night goes on. The drinks' focus is on artisanal spirits and American-style craft cocktails. The food is gussied up American comfort food made from scratch for sharing.
THE SPEAKEASY ISSUE
We won’t get upset if you refer to us as a speakeasy, but it’s really not how we see 28. Keeping our venue word-of-mouth and hidden behind that nondescript façade allows us to host a more intimate and social setting for our guests. It also allows us to embrace the history of a really cool street. It makes for a fun bit of surprise when you leave the street and enter our little haven.
